Enduring couple Victoria and David Beckham are still a favourite of celebrity watchers after more than a decade of marriage. Certainly, there's eye candy enough for anyone between the two of them, no matter what your persuasion, and a gaggle of cute kids too make for a lot of paparazzi opps.

But, they've had their ups and downs as a couple since their 1999 wedding, including much publicized claims of his occasional infidelity. What does the zodiac say about their union?

David Robert Joseph Beckham, the quintessential English footballer, was born May 2, a Taurus. Taurus is a the ultimate male, ruled by Venus. That's how he can be the macho athlete and also the sentimental family man who cried when his wife told him they were expecting another child. Family in general is hugely important to Taurus.

The Bull is often gifted physically in many ways (including the one you're thinking of) and it's clear that David is one of those. Even if Taurus isn't considered good looking (and that's pretty rare actually) this very masculine guy has a gift for getting along with women.

The fly in the ointment with Taurus is a tendency to feel neglected at the slightest provocation - even when it's work that's keeping them apart and it's nobody's fault. Add to that the fact that there's never any shortage of women willing to sub in for the main squeeze and you may well find you have infidelity by default. Victoria Caroline Beckham - businesswoman, fashion designer and singer - celebrates her birthday on April 17, 1974 as an Aries. The Ram is all fire and energy - the irresistible force to the Bull's immovable object. That may cause friction but also of the sexually very interesting variety. It's also a combination that can benefit both partners in the relationship while tempering excesses.

The funny thing is, Aries of both sexes often have their own wandering eye. In other words, there's more to the Aries/Taurus combination than you would ever know from the outside looking in.

British superstar Adele and her boyfriend Simon Konecki recently welcomed the birth of a son in mid-October. Simon is an Aries, born April 17 and Adele is a Taurus born May 5.

In some cases, Aries the perpetual motion machine might be too much for a home loving Taurus, but in this case there seem to be signs of a much more compatible pairing.

Simon is founder of Life Water, an eco-friendly business supplying Britain with locally sourced water  and using a bottling process that's carbon neutral by Kyoto Standards. He's also the founder of Drop4Drop, an organization dedicated to solving the global water crisis. It's not uncommon for Aries to take up a torch of some kind and in fact he's happiest when he's putting his abundant energies to use fighting the good fight rather than, say, driving his partners crazy. ;)

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is a Taurus. Taurus' natural bent is very earth oriented and she'll have a lot of respect for what he does and respect itself is important to your typical Taurus of either sex. They like the object of their affection to have some character, some substance.

She's said to be turning down social invitations to stay home with the baby and that's pure Taurus too - they make the most devoted of Moms.

Surely the saddest celebrity story of the week is that of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Caught canoodling very publicly with her Snow White and the Hunstman director, 41-year old married father of two Rupert Sanders, just last week in photographs seen around the world, Kristen has since made an equally public apology.

She seems to be paying a heavy price for the indiscretion and Robert has moved out of the home they shared.The pair have been an item since falling in love on the set of the very first Twilight movie.

A source told People: "I'm not sure they'll be able to recover from this. Robert is heartbroken and angry.”

What prognosis can we find in astrology?

Robert, who turned 26 on May 13, is a Taurus. They're probably the most genuinely romantic men in the zodiac - when they fall in love, they fall hard and they fall deeply. He'll be steady in his affections; maybe too steady. Sometimes, their partners can tend to take that rock of Gibraltar quality for granted.

That's a mistake, though, because he'll believe in his love interest until she lets him down... then, all bets are off. If a Taurus is deeply wounded, as he can't help but be in this kind of situation, the break is usually final. And it wounds him not only in a romantic sense but also attacks his sense of male pride; the Bull's emotions are very strong and tied very closely to his whole sense of self. Add to that he's got a volcanic temper once he's been roused. He may, in the end, decide to stay around for a while just because of the memory of what was once so perfect, but he'll never truly forgive and forget. If they got back together, the next news would likely be him straying in public.

Kristen is an Aries (April 9) - lady-like on the outside, a strong, free-spirited and sometimes restless soul on the inside. Aries has a propensity to stray just because they're spontaneous and always open to adventure; Kristen's forthright way of handling it with a public apology is also something you'd expect from a Ram. They may make mistakes, but they'll own up to them.

As to the future - Taurus and Aries is one of those genuinely sexy matches (it's Venus and Mars after all!) that probably doesn't work out in the long term. Time will tell if there are any other aspects to their astrological charts that make a difference one way or the other.

P.S. Rupert Sanders (March 16) is a Pisces, an attractive and charming sign who lives in his imagination and is very susceptible to the appeal of beauty.
