The break up of this powerhouse/celebrity/political couple is old news but Arnie brought it back to the forefront this past week with the release of his memoir, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story
in which (among other things) he describes a 'hot' affair with statuesque Brigitte Nielson while he was dating now-ex-wife Maria Shriver.

Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born July 30 as a Leo and former spouse Maria Shriver celebrates her birthday on November 6 - a Scorpio. In many ways, the two signs make a really sexy match. It's the Sun King hooking up with the dark and dangerous Pluto maiden, with lots of opposites attract sparks flying in the bedroom.

Leo is attracted to strong women and if he's the King, he certainly looks for a regal Queen as his spouse. As his spouse.... that's where the game can begin to fall apart with Leo, as it did in this case.

Arnold, ironically, is displaying the classic Leonine conundrum - Jackie or Marilyn? Just like Jack Kennedy, another Leo in the classic mold, he wants a royal consort, a woman of quality for his public persona, but his libido drives him to seek out women who appeal to his baser instincts.

The Leo male has a big ego that's more fragile that it seems - he spends a lot of time and effort bolstering it so you won't guess at that, but with so many Lions, his Achilles heel is the attention he gets from women. It's like a drug he can't do without. The kicker is often his sense of bravado - big enough that he thinks he can get away with it, juggle two lives, run a country or a state and get a lot on the side too. That part of his ego is always more than adequate.

Maria is a Scorpio, a passionate, deep soul who's also very private, unlike the ultra-gregarious Lion. The fact that their marital scandals were so public likely played a large role in how it affected her. She's a strong, dynamic survivor who prefers the sidelines to the spotlight and while the book is no doubt yet another unwelcome intrusion into her private life, she's moving on as we speak.

Celebrity Astrology Story of the Week (August 25, 2012) - Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger
It's not that often that I get to write about an all-Canadian celebrity couple. This past week, these two lovebirds have made their engagement public.

Avril Lavigne, with her birthday coming up on September 27, is a Libra, born close to the cusp of Virgo. Chad Kroeger (lead singer of Nickelback of course), born November 15, is a Scorpio. It's an interesting combination.

Certainly, these two signs have the makings of a great dirty weekend. Libra will love his attentions and sexual prowess (it's true) and her flirtatious, airy and not quite there Libra qualities will drive him insane with lust. Scorpio exudes machismo and he loves nothing better than chasing after a pretty lady who seems to be hovering just out of his reach. There's a great sexual potential, to say the least.

For a long term gig, it will help if there's an element to ground Libra's flirtatious nature - something a jealous Scorpio will never put up with in the long term, as much as he is attracted to it himself. In turn, Scorpio can open up Libra's Pandora's box of sexual fantasies with his uninhibited nature, a Scorpio perk she'll respond to just as enthusiastically as he hopes for.

The risk will be if Libra is too impersonal, a common fault of Air Signs. Libras are friendly and sociable and typically make a great first impression. In the romantic sphere, that can lead to a way of leaving a messy trail of personal relationships behind them because they forget to end one before they begin the next. Libra often likes to keep their relationships at a fairly shallow stage while Scorpio wants to dive deeper and deeper; that's probably the major point of incompatibility in this pairing. However, Avril is said to have both the Moon and Venus in Scorpio, which could well be what makes her more inclined to be simpatico with this Scorpio native.

And with human beings there is always a wild card. Best case scenario: it could just be the kind of passionate rollercoaster Libra and Scorpio can thrive on. She'll warm to his sexual heat and he'll love her stylish version of femininity in an opposites attract kind of way that could keep this passion burning for a long time.
